This program is designed for children ages 1 to 4 to encourage life-long reading habits. Once you've earned enough points, you'll receive a completion certificate you can print and share!  

This program is designed for students entering 6th - 12th Grade to encourage life-long reading habits. Your completion goal is 1500 minutes of reading. The more you read, the better chance you have to win a prize. Log your minutes at least weekly to be eligible for weekly prize drawings. Reach your 1500-minute goal and be entered into the grand prize drawing. For each additional 300 minutes you read, you'll receive another entry into the grand prize drawing!

This program is designed for adults to encourage life-long reading habits. Once you've earned enough points, you'll receive a completion certificate you can print and share! Start reading from the time of registration! Read 6 books in 6 weeks and be entered in a Grand Prize Drawing! You're also eligible for Weekly Prize Drawings each week you log a book. The more you read, the more chance you have to win! Adult Program Participants must have their own valid Schmaling Library card. They may not use a child's card to register. If you would like to register for a family account and not sign up for the Summer Reading Program yourself, please register for the 2026 Summer Reading Non-Participating Parent of Family Account program. If you are not eligible for the Adult Summer Reading Program, library staff will either remove single accounts or move your family account to the Non-Participating Account.

This Program is for PARENTS who have multiple children enrolling in the Summer Reading Program in order to have a family account, but the parent does not want to or is not eligible to participate in the Adult Summer Reading Program. You can log your children's reading minutes in this account and even log your own books but you will not be eligible for prizes.
